WE ARE IN LABOR!!!!!!!

This is Sanjay from Command Central at the Hospital. Nicole is doing AMAZINGLY well --- I am so proud of her; her family is proud of her; the medical staff is complimenting her.

Water broke at 12:10am; we were in the hospital at 3:30 am after 2.5 hours of labor contractions!

We've walked laps around the floor, tried different positions, lying down, etc. Nicole has not fallen asleep, and has taken no medication. She was 2.5 cm at 7am this morning ---- the doctor is checking her at 10am to see how far along she is!!! I'd bet almost 5 cm!!!!

Talk to you all soon!

YEAH NICOLE!!!!! Glad to hear you are doing well. I know you and Sanjay will be such good parents. Your baby will have a terrific Mommy and Daddy. You can do it. Remember once your little one arrives all the pain will be a distant memory. Call if you have any problems with nursing or any questions. Remember- nurse as often as your baby wants (on demand feeding), get a good latch from the beginning, DON"T watch the clock, relax, it is more important to count wet/dirty diapers than to time your feedings, don't let the nurses pressure you into using formula or a pacifier, Your baby has reserves of fat stored up inside it's body so if baby is sleepy in the beginning that is ok if they are not eating as much, your colostrum is enough to keep baby satisfied, no need to wake a sleeping baby, baby will wake up when it is hungry. Good luck- I just got a text from Kelly saying you are 5cm. hang in there:) Erin Butler

We are so proud of you, both of you. It is great when you can bring a child into this world, made from love, with the love and support and strength of both parents in the delivery room. Peanut is so blessed, We just can't wait to see him and read your birth story. Push mommy!
