The Life of An 18th Month Old

I realize that I say this every month, but I love this age. Being the mother of an 18 month old is really so incredibly fun! I can't help it, it keeps getting better and better.

What is Pax up to these days? Everything. We can't keep this boy inside. He loves going to the playground, climbing on things, and just being outside in general. It is a whole new world for him. He also loves to stack things. He has a special cabinet that has seveal different shaped and colored containers that he enjoys making towers out of. He loves to be pulled around the house in his train (a.k.a. a laundry basket with a scarf attached for pulling), he loves to talk on the phone to anyone who is patient enough to wait minutes for him to say what he has to say and who doesn't mind hearing loud chimes when he presses the buttons. He hugs and kisses our friends and family and occassionally the stranger in the store (that's always akward). He can identify so many things I just can't believe it. Every week we bring home 5 different books from the library after story time and man, I just can't get over how fast he learns. While reading him a book, if you ask him where the ______ is, he is happy to point to the object and occassionally verbalizes it.

His newest trick is jumping. Okay, we are not talking a Lebron vertical or anything, but it is so funny to watch him attempt this. He is also so close to being able to do a summersault without assistance.

Sanjay and I took him to the Childrens's Museum in Cleveland and he absolutley loved it. He played in the big red barn room, he played with the sand and at a water table and drove as many cars as he could get his hands on.

Sleep: Pax is still enjoying his sleep. He still goes to bed around 7:00 and wakes around 7:20. We transitioned into one long nap during the day normally from 11:00-1:00 or 12:00-2:00. For some reason, when Sanjay is home with him he tends to sleep for 3 hours (go figure).

Eating: We call Pax "Senor Never Miss A Meal". I know we are mean, but it's true. His favorite foods are sweet potatoes, cheerios, oatmeal banana waffles, peaches, and spaghetti.

Comfort: Our friends Chris and Jen bought Pax a little orange fishie which Pax was very attached to for a while and would not go anywhere without it. Now, he is very attached to his green lizard blankie that our friends Victor and Robbyn bought him for his 1st birthday. He cracks himself up when he coveres his entire face with is blankie and walks around the house running into things. It is pretty funny.
